Business support policy - Regions and Rurality Fund (RIF)

The Fonds régions et ruralité - volet 2 (FRR) is an initiative of the Government of Quebec to support regional county municipalities (RCMs) in their local and regional development efforts.

Under the terms of this agreement, Ville de Laval has established these five main orientations for deploying the RIF for the benefit of businesses on its territory:

  1. Strategic support to companies
  2. Financial support for businesses
  3. Innovation
  4. Attractiveness and investment
  5. Promotion and economic intelligence

Réseau Accès entreprise Québec (AEQ)

The Réseau Accès entreprise Québec (AEQ) is an initiative of the Quebec government. It is a tool of choice to make support and investment services more accessible to businesses and entrepreneurs, while respecting regional specificities.

The City of Laval is committed to the Réseau AEQ to allow a greater number of businesses and entrepreneurs to reach their full potential. It will thus be able to participate in the prosperity and economic growth of all regions of Quebec.

Economic recovery plan for downtown Laval

This structural plan addresses the economic priorities of the downtown area in response to the health crisis. Three main sectors of intervention were identified following analysis and consultation with partners: tourism, commerce and culture.

Various initiatives will ensure that certain key challenges are met, including the integration of new technologies, attractiveness and commitment to greener and more sustainable practices.

Sector agreement for the development of the agri-food sector in Laval

Under the coordination of Laval Économique, the mandate of the sectoral agreement for the development of the agri-food sector in Laval is to help identify priority development issues.

In addition, this group of partners participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of priority collective projects, including the Laval agri-food processing development and enhancement plan. This agreement is also committed to the mobilization and consultation of Laval stakeholders in these sectors.
