FAQ

How do you define an "innovative offering"?

According to the experts at Investissement Québec, an innovative offer is defined as "the development of a new product or process, or the significant improvement of an existing product or process".

Also, the functions or intended uses of the product or process presented must offer decisive advantages over current market solutions in the company's sector of activity. The company must be able to demonstrate that the whole package gives it a long-term competitive advantage.

What is "clean technology"?

The term "clean technology" encompasses new products, services, technologies and processes that meet the following criteria:

  • Ecologically efficient and with very low environmental impact
  • Economically advantageous: offers users superior performance at lower cost
  • Socially responsible: contributing to a better quality of life by optimizing the use of resources

In the context of this program, what does a "start-up" really mean?

We classify start-ups as companies that have been in business for 5 years or less, and show potential for rapid growth. Our team uses the company's financial forecasts to determine eligibility for this program (employees, revenues, customers, etc.).

Do I have access to resources to help me complete my application (e.g. required documents)?

Yes, you can contact Alexandre Corriveau, coordinator of this department. He'll be happy to answer your questions about eligibility and all the required documents. You'll find his contact information at the bottom of this page.
