Up to $25,000 in grants

By encouraging the creation and acquisition of new businesses and by creating or maintaining jobs in order to contribute to the distribution of wealth throughout the Laval region.

Nature of financial assistance

For fixed assets such as land, buildings, certain equipment, machinery, incorporation costs, and any other expenses of a similar nature.
For the acquisition of technologies (know-how, license or manufacturing agreement, and patent) for software or software packages.

Eligibility criteria

Directors must have relevant experience or training.
The company creates or commits to creating, within 12 months of signing the agreement, the equivalent of two full-time jobs.
Financial assistance must correspond to 50% or less of the project costs.
The sum of non-refundable and refundable contributions from governments and the City of Laval does not exceed 50% of the project costs.
The business and the project must qualify for repayable financial assistance (loan) from Local Investment Funds equivalent to the amount of the Business Start-up Fund grant. Financing for the start-up or acquisition project must include amounts from the Business Start-up Fund and Local Investment Funds.
The company's head office and business projects must carry out or plan to carry out their main activities within the territory of Laval.
The company must be a private, for-profit entity.
The company must be registered or incorporated.
The business plan must present good prospects for viability and profitability.
The business plan must be based on a comprehensive business plan including projected financial statements for a minimum of two years.
