Export+ Fund

To support Laval businesses in their efforts to internationalize, consolidate markets, and develop new export markets.

Nature of financial assistance

The Export+ program aims to encourage Laval-based exporting companies to develop new export markets or improve their competitiveness, particularly through strategic sourcing.

This call for proposals aims to support five export projects. The program offers a grant covering 50% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $10,000 per company, for the implementation of an action plan targeting a new market outside the United States.

For example:

  • Trade show registration and participation fees
  • Advertising expenses
  • Booth rental fees
  • Intellectual property protection expenses
  • Certification, compliance or accreditation expenses
  • Professional fees

Eligibility criteria

For selected projects, expenses must be incurred between the date of application and the end of the grant agreement on May 14, 2027.

Eligible businesses:

  • Be a for-profit company legally incorporated in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada and therefore have a Quebec business number (NEQ).
  • Be an established business and have a decision-making centre on Laval territory.
  • Be a business in the manufacturing or tertiary (service) sector or in a sector considered to be a priority or strategic sector.
  • Have a turnover of more than $500,000.
  • For strategic procurement projects, at least 20% of revenue must have been generated outside Quebec.
  • Be in operation for at least 2 years.
  • Demonstrate the financial capacity to ensure the continuity of the company's operations. 

Ineligible businesses:

  • Companies under the protection of the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. 
  • Companies listed in the Register of enterprises ineligible for public contracts or of the city of Laval (RENAVAL). 
  • Companies in default of their obligations to the city of Laval or any other government authority.

Selection criteria

All applications submitted under this call for proposals will be rigorously analyzed according to the following selection criteria:

  • The quality, relevance, and impact of the project for the company
  • The company's capacity to carry out the project in terms of financial and human resources
  • The necessity or leverage effect of the subsidy in enabling the company to carry out its project
  • Potential benefits of the Laval project in terms of jobs and investment

Companies whose projects have been selected undertake to produce a report on the funded project, detailing in particular the expected benefits.

Submit a request

Projects must be submitted to the City of Laval's Economic Development Department by April 3, 2026, at the latest, at the following address: exportation@laval.ca

To do so, eligible companies must submit the following documents:

  • Completed application form
  • International business plan
  • Financial statements for the last two (2) years
